Pots & Planters

Just like a work of art, beautiful pots and planters bring so much to the garden. Traveling from trade show to trade show, we focus not only on the ever-popular classics, but also the latest trends in color and design. Our expansive selection includes handcrafted pottery from all over the world in a mix of materials, including ceramic, cement, wood, and recycled lightweight cement. We are also dealers for A. Silvestri and Campania and would be happy to special order something from either company if we do not have them in stock.

We carry real Talavera pottery that has been made with techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation since the 16th century in the Mexican state of Puebla, and Dolores Hidalgo. Each piece is hand molded and fired in gas kilns for over a week. After the initial firing the artisans begin to glaze and paint and the ceramics begin to resemble the works of art you see at the nursery. After being painted and glazed the ceramics are fired again for about 10 days at high temperatures giving them excellent durability. Each piece from start to finish takes about a month to produce.
