The Christmas’ House 38th year!

Merrie Untermann and her friend Cindy Wookey started the Christmas House in 1985 to fill a niche of well priced, unique ornaments and decorations in Marin. Of course, back then it was more of a Christmas Corner, with just a handful of trees and a few decorations. Over the last 30 years, it has grown to include more than 60 glittering trees, becoming one of the biggest holiday traditions in the community. Every tree is decorated according to theme by our staff of talented elves…... Barb Untermann has taken over for Merrie and her career as a photo stylist and designer has served her well in continuing to bring the Christmas spirit to West End. Make sure you look for our opening weekend in early November where we serve Grannie’s famous cookies and apple cider.

Santa Cop

While we’re always looking for new ways to make The Christmas House bigger and better than ever, there is one tradition that is near and dear to our hearts. In partnership with the San Rafael Police Department, Santa Cop is an organization that collects toys for needy children during the holidays. To support their toy drive, Santa visits the nursery every year and takes free photos with all the good little boys and girls. It’s truly one of our very favorite days of the entire holiday season.
